Music and Sound Technician (part time, term time only, fixed term contract)

Working 20.25 hours per week between the hours of 8.30am to 5.10pm over 3 days usually Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for 39 weeks per year, term time only, a degree of flexibility is required to cover events on other days and evening and weekend performances.

To support the learning of students through the provision of resources and advice, to organise and maintain music facilities/equipment and to manage data and tracking systems including:

• To assist in the collation, back-up and archiving of coursework/continuous assessment data.

• To ensure that equipment, instruments and materials are kept in good working order, securely stored and regularly audited.

• To provide practical demonstrations and written tutorials on the use of materials and equipment, including the use of equipment in the Recording Studio.

We are looking for a candidate who has:

An active interest in all aspects of music and music technology.

Knowledge of recording, music production and live music performance equipment.

Experience of music computing skills (e.g. sequencing, notation and audio processing software).

Practical experience of musical performance and/or providing technical support for musical performances.

General IT and administration skills

Sixth Form Colleges Support Staff Pay Spine point 20, £9,111 (This is the prorated equivalent of the full time scale £19,328)

This is a fixed term contract until August 2024
