Starting Salary: £12,206 NJC Point 4

Hours of Work: 25 hours per week; 39 weeks pa (Term-time plus 5 INSET days)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Administrative Assistant to join our busy Business Support office at Uffculme School. You will be part of our Business Support Team, delivering HR and Finance services to Uffculme School and Uffculme Primary.

You will be supporting the work of the two Administrators and the School Business Manager. The role is varied and includes placing orders with suppliers, responding to emails, administering the school’s cashless payment system and dealing with general queries. You will also have the opportunity to assist with HR processes including preparing interview packs and undertaking pre-employment checks for successful candidates. You will be a key person to respond to general queries from staff and parents and will be expected to provide a positive and welcoming response.

We are looking for a candidate who is proactive, enthusiastic and confident in communicating effectively with a wide range of people. You will play an instrumental role in the day to day running of the Business Support Office as well as providing support to the Administrators. This is an ideal role for someone who is interested in developing a career in administration.

You should have excellent communication skills, be flexible, adaptable and be able to prioritise tasks. The role will require both independent working and the ability to be a team player.

While previous school administration experience is not essential, candidates should be experienced in working in a busy professional office environment. You should be proficient and confident with ICT. An up to date knowledge of Microsoft systems including Teams would be an advantage, but full training will be provided to the successful candidate.

The role is based at Uffculme School and is typically 5 hours a day, 5 days a week; start times can be flexible and a working pattern will be agreed with the post-holder on appointment.

We can offer a competitive salary, a Local Government pension, free onsite parking, and discounted membership at our onsite gym. We are supportive of learning and development and encourage our staff to broaden their skills and knowledge and encourage continuous CPD.

If you are looking for a varied administration role in a supportive organisation, then we would love to hear from you.
